About the book...
Celeste is not like other girls. She appeared, aged five, in the middle of a busy street with no memory of where she came from or who she was.
After nationwide appeals failed to throw any light on the situation, Celeste was sent to live with Mrs Potts, the kind lady who found her. After eleven happy years together, Celeste leaves in the middle of the night on her 16th birthday. Before she goes, Celeste gives Mrs Potts a kiss - a warm, luminous glow passes between them and Celeste appears to 'fade' a little.
Here lies the first piece of Celeste.
As she passes more of herself to her loved ones, Celeste begins to wonder what this 'gift' means and where it came from. But she had no memory of her life before Mrs Potts found her. Little clues begin to appear, but are they coincidence or has some one been watching her all of this time, waiting until she is ready to find out the truth?
The real question is, will Celeste ever be ready to accept where she came from and who she truly is?

Read the reviews...The following reviews are for various pieces of Laura's work:
From Authonomy First I want to say that, in my opinion, short stories are the hardest to write well. Every word has a definite purpose and you have less of them to express feelings, create imagery, etc. So I applaud your successful effort of creating two great and different short stories! This is such a beautiful story of great friendship without prejudice and unconditioned love. I had Goosebumps throughout the story and I was surprised when tears started pulling down my cheeks in the end. But you know what, I feel sorry for those people who didn’t open up to Danny and couldn’t see past his ‘condition’, because they missed out – not him. S. T.
